Discipline Log - Falling Off The Path
This last weekend we celebrated my fiance's 32nd Birthday. We visited a winery, ate a fancy mexican dinner and went to a bar. After not going out for about 10 months (since new years) I was reminded that there is nothing worth noting at the bar lol.
After all of this excess of poison into my body. I feel like I went back 5 steps in my training. I don't know if it's my age or a universal truth but this major interruption of my routine, sleep, stress level - whatever you want to call it severely messed with me. We stayed up late (duh) so my sleep schedule has been thrown off. I had some alcohol (duh) so my immune system feels weak and I have anxiety. My back - which to be fair has been having some issues - is in a whole new level of pain.
After working out the last two nights I felt very deflated. I saw no progress from my recent sessions, and it was quite frustrating. This is what Jocko Willink would call "Falling Off The Path" I believe. So the next step is to get back on.
That’s probably why I went and worked out last night even though I felt like crap. It was a terrible workout but I got it done. The longer you wait to get back on the path the harder it is.
So if you are going through a rough patch or a difficult time, get back on the path. Don’t make excuses for yourself. Work towards the goals YOU set.
Happy training,
