Another Year, Another ER Visit
Well guys, a little over a year ago I had an emergency appendix removal. Almost like clockwork I ended up in the ER again. This time: due to me vomiting for 12 hours straight.
Okay, when I say straight, I threw up every 1.5 hours. (I ran out of food after the first 5 hours)
I think this was the sickest I have ever been in my life. Thank God for Kashmira. Not only was I throwing up yellow stomach acid, I was literally shitting my pants too lol. I laid 5 pairs of boxers to rest through the ordeal before Kash bought me some adult diapers.
I was SO exhausted, frustrated, dehydrated and beaten. Once I hit 24 hours of the onset of the sickness and I still couldn’t keep down solid foods, we made the decision to go to the ER.
I was so nauseous that I couldn’t lay on the bed and preferred to sit on the floor. They pumped some nausea medicine in me as well as some saline after I had a contrast scan to make sure something deeper wasn’t wrong with me. When I got back from the scan, I knocked out for 2 hours that felt like a second. No sedatives, just my body finally getting a moment to breathe.
The entire weekend I was out of commission. The initial onset was Thursday, and Kashmira didn’t want me to go back to work on Monday but I managed. I lost 10lb between Thursday morning and Tuesday morning. I stopped logging my food and set a goal to not lose more weight. I went down to 155 lb and I felt the need to get my energy back. Also, MyFitnessPal, FlexTimer AND Spotify changed their UI while I was sick. What the hell?
On the plus side, I caught up on Maul (Star Wars show) and Daredevil.
I enjoyed Chik-Fil-A and Taco Bell for the first time in awhile. It’s been over a week since I got rid of the illness now and I am losing weight while eating 3200 calories (which is CRAZY for me)
I’m on day 4 of 75 Hard now, and my front lever progress has TANKED.
I’m going to keep moving! The downs are what makes the ups feel so good. When you fall of the trail, get back on! I hope you’ve enjoyed this story, reader. May it encourage you to keep going when you have face a challenge in your own life.
Until next time,
An Average Ninja
